Organize Your Spare Bedroom
Make the most out of your spare bedroom by furnishing it with a trundle bed.
Many single family residences have a spare bedroom in the layout and design of the home. This room could be used as a den or office. It could be used as a hobby room. It could be used as a spare bedroom. Or, it could be used as a combination room, to maximize the use by becoming a spare bedroom only when overnight guest and relatives come to stay. In order to accomplish this, beds with a trundle may be a viable option.
One way to decorate your spare bedroom is by furnishing it as a regular bedroom. To make the most use out of the sleeping space available, consider furnishing the room with twin beds with trundle drawers underneath or trundle bunk beds. The twin beds with trundle drawers can provide four separate mattresses for sleeping. However, careful placement of the beds needs to be done in order to ensure that both trundle drawers can pull out safely. The trundle bunk bed option would only allow for three separate mattresses, but would leave more space in the room for other furnishings. Either setup would be an ideal way for empty nesters or grandparents to utilize an unused room, as they probably have plenty of extra unused rooms.
For those families who have a limited number of bedrooms, keeping a spare bedroom to use just as a bedroom only for the occasional overnight visitor may not work well. A combination use room may be the solution. Daybeds can be used as a place to sit in the room. It can be decorated with a daybed cover so that the bed resembles a sofa more than a bed. The rest of the room may be decorated with other furnishings such as a desk and chair for everyday use. Then, when your overnight guests arrive, the daybed can be utilized as a bed. The extra trundle bed underneath provides another sleeping space. So, if you have relatives with kids, they could all stay together in the room. Instead of setting up another rollaway bed or an inflatable mattress on the floor, all you would have to do is pull out the trundle bed from underneath the daybed and you are ready to go.
Trundle beds are a great, space saving option for any spare bedroom. Trundle beds, like other regular beds, come in a variety of bed frames and styles. You can have a wooden trundle bed frame, a metal trundle bed frame, or even a wicker trundle bed frame. Standard trundle mattresses are typically twin size mattresses, although a larger, custom trundle mattress is possible. The trundle mattress underneath classifies any bed as a trundle bed and can be custom added to any bed frame if desired.
